"FORT DOBBS 1756"

epicting North Carolina Provincial Soldiers at Fort Dobbs, the painting "Fort Dobbs 1756" was a gracious gift to the Statesville community from artist Robert Gantt Steele. A Statesville native, Steele worked extensively with Fort Dobbs staff to create the image based on archaeological and written documentation of the fort and the soldiers who served there.

Only 200 copies of the limited edition canvas prints are available, at a cost of $150 each. Prints may be purchased through Fort Dobbs or at the Frame Gallery, 110 W. Broad Street, in historic downtown Statesville.
